This morning I read an article from Happy Homefront about getting help during long-distance, long-term relationships. The article is actually written by a commercial fisherman's wife, Jen, who started her own blog for commercial fishing families. Although I have never considered the similarities between commercial fishing families and military families, the article described experiences and advice that I think would be very helpful to any husband or wife left behind during a spouse's military deployment. Jen shares her struggle with managing her children, job, and relationship alone, and what it took for her to finally ask for help. To read more about her experience, check out the article on Happy Homefront.
