  1. Santorum's Concern Over Women in the Military: A Response from Mothers at War's Laura Browder

This week, Mothers at War's own Laura Browder shared her opinion on women's role in the military while on Patt Morrison's call-in radio show on KPCC Los Angeles. The show featured opinions on comments made by Republican Presidential Candidate Rick Santorum concerning women in the military. Santorum's statments came in response to the Pentagon's new guidelines that would allow women to serve at the batallion level in positions such as medics, pilots, and mechanics. When asked if he would support these guidelines as president, Santorum responded that he was concerned about this "compromising situation" because "people naturally may do things that may not be in the interest of the mission, because of other types of emotions that are involved."  While on NBC's "Today" show on Friday, Santorum attempted to clarify that his concern  was not about women's emotions, but rather about the emotions of men in response to seeing women in danger.

The radio show also features opinions from several ex-military women and Arnold Steinberg, political strategist and analyst.
